Like a majestic bird, the Evergreen Group has taken flight. It stepped from the seas to land. Then, with EVA Air as the embodiment of the best of this great transportation heritage, it soared into the wide-open skies.

The Evergreen Group steadily transformed itself as a transportation giant on the world stage. From the wellspring of its Taiwanese heritage, it built on strengths of its culture and created "EVA Air - the Wings of Taiwan".

On April 7, 1989, Group Chairman Chang Yung-Fa built on the Evergreen Group's 20 years of worldwide success, and used its global network and rich international transportation experience as a base to form EVA Airways Corporation.

After careful planning and thorough preparation, and with great expectations, EVA Air launched its first flight on July 1, 1991.

To achieve our operation target of "flight safety priority, above-par service quality," EVA Air initiated standard operating procedures specifically for flight safety. We follow an exacting work protocol and use an exceptionally strong organizational structure to promote flight safety awareness. As a result, we have established a superior flight safety culture.

EVA Air promotes flight safety through comprehensive controls and risk management considerations at every level of our organization. We are vigilant in the use of technologically advanced flight analysis equipment such as Aircraft Condition Monitoring System (ACMS) and Aircraft Communications Addressing & Reporting System (ACARS) for monitoring every aircraft situation, engine condition and flight performance.

After collecting this data, we use it as an index to project flight risk management and promotes overall flight safety. Our result shows excellent flight safety quality and effective management.
